वीरेंद्र सेहवाग जिनको पूरी दुनिया मुल्तान के सुल्तान नाम से जानती है। विराट से पहले टीम इंडिया के रन मशीन सेहवाग को कहा जाता था। सेहवाग जब ओपनिंग करने आते थे तो विरोधी टीम के बॉलर की धज्जियां उड़ा देते थे, सामने कोई भी बॉलर हो सेहवाग अपनी तेज बैटिंग से हमेशा विरोधी टीम में ख़ौफ पैदा करते थे। सेहवाग को नजफगढ़ के नवाब भी कहा जाता था। सचिन और सेहवाग जब ओपनर के रूप में आते थे तब हमेशा टीम को अच्छी सुरुवात करके देते थे। दोनों भी टीम इंडिया के टॉप ओपनर रहे है। सेहवाग अभी रिटायर्ड हुए लेकिन टीम इंडिया को इस मुकाम तक पहुंचाने के लिए उन्होंने बहुत बडा योगदान दिया है।

सेहवाग के जीवन के बारे में कुछ बातें :

सेहवाग के पिताजी का नाम का कृष्णन सेहवाग और माताजी का नाम कृष्ना सेहवाग था। वीरेंद्र को मिलाकर चार भाई बहन थे, वीरेंद्र सबसे छोटे होने के कारण सबसे ज्यादा लाड प्यार उन्ही को मिला था। सेहवाग के पिताजी का अनाज का व्यापार था। सेहवाग का बचपन जॉइंट फैमिली में बिता। वीरू ने स्कूल तक कि पढ़ाई अरोरा विद्या हाइस्कूल से की। वहाँपर वीरू बहुत क्रिकेट खेला करते थे, यह बात जब उनकी टीचर ने पिताजी को बताई तो पिताजी वीरू पर बहुत नाराज हो गए। पिताजी ने वीरू से कहा के पढ़ाई करो इन सब चीजों में कुछ नही रखा। लेकिन वीरू फिर भी खेलना चालू रखा और उनके कोच अमरनाथ शर्मा ने उन्हें एक अटैकिंग बैट्समैन ट्रेन किया। जब वीरू 12 साल के हुए तो बहुत ज्यादा क्रिकेट खेलने लगे यह बात उनके पिताजी को ज्यादा पसंद नही आयी। उन्होंने वीरू को साफ साफ कह दिया के तुम अब क्रिकेट नही खेलोगे, लेकिन वीरू ने अपनी जिद नही छोड़ी, अपनी जिद की वजह से उन्हें मार भी पडी लेकिंन वीरू ने अपनी जिद नही छोड़ी और यह जिद उनके माताजी को समझ आयी और माताजी ने पिताजी को समझाकर वीरू को खेलने की अनुमती दे दी। कुछ दिन बीतने के बाद वीरू क्रिकेट में बहुत अच्छे हो गए। जवानी के दिनों में वीरू सचिन तेंडुलकर के बहुत बड़े फैन थे, और उनके जैसा बनना चाहते थे। 1997 में वीरू का सिलेक्शन दिल्ली टीम के लिए हो गया और दिलीप ट्रॉफी में वीरू हाईएस्ट स्कोर बैट्समैन में पांचवे नम्बर पर भी रहे। वीरू को आंतरराष्ट्रीय टीम एकदिवसीय डेब्यु पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ 1999में हुआ पहले मैच वीरू कुछ खास नही कर पाए और बौलिंग में भी वीरू कुछ खास नही कर पाये। इसके बाद वीरू लगबग 20 महीने टीम से बाहर रहे और बादमे उनको ज़िम्बाब्वे के खिलाफ मौका मिला, इस सिरीज़ में वीरू ने 4 थे मैच में शानदार बैटिंग करके खुदको साबित किया और इस मैच में वीरू को मैन ऑफ मैच भी चुना गया। इसके बाद उन्हें श्रीलंका के खिलाफ ओपनिंग के लिए चुना गया। उसमे उन्होंने 69 बॉल में सेंचुरी लगाई। इसके बाद वीरू की बैटिंग और भी बेहतरिन होती रही। पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ वीरू की परफॉर्मेंस हमेशा अच्छी रही थी। वीरू का टेस्ट डेब्यु 2001 में साउथ अफ्रीका के खिलाफ हुआ था। 2009 में वीरू ने इंडियन क्रिकेट में फास्टेस्ट सेंचुरी लगानेवाले बल्लेबाज बन गए। जिसके वजह से टीम इंडिया न्यूज़ीलैंड के खिलाफ सीरीज भी जीत गया। वीरू ने अपना हाईएस्ट स्कोर वेस्ट इंडीज के खिलाफ बनाया, जिसमे उन्होंने 139 गेंदो में 219 रन्स बनाये थे। उस समय सचिन और सेहवाग की ओपनिंग जोड़ी ने द धमाका मचाया हुआ था। सेहवाग ने कुछ समय गौतम गंभीर के साथ भी ओपेनिंग की थी। वीरू टेस्ट क्रिकेट इंडिया के तरफ से 2 बार 300 रन्स बनाने वाले पहिले ब बल्लेबाज बन गए। 2011 के वर्ल्डकप में भी वीरू की परफॉर्मेंस अच्छी रही थी। वर्ल्डकप के बाद वीरू थोड़े दिन ही खेले और बाद में वीरू 2015 में क्रिकेट के सभी फॉर्मेटो से संन्यास ले लिया।

वीरू का निजी परिचय :

वीरू ने 2004 में आरती अहलावत से शादी की थी और उनके दो बेटे भी है, जिनके नाम आर्यवीर और वेदांत सेहवाग है।

वीरू जब टीम इंडिया में थे तब उनकी तेज बल्लेबाजी से हर कोई गेंदबाज ख़ौफ खाता था, वीरू एकबार अपनी लय में आगये तो उनको रोखना मुश्किल हो जाता था। अपने पिताजी ने मना करने के बाद भी वीरू का खेलना और इस मुकाम तक पहुंचना कोई आसान काम नही है। वीरू ने हमेशा टीम इंडिया को एक अच्छी सुरुवात दी है। वीरू अपने टाइम के शेर थे जिससे हर कोई बॉलर डरता था। हमारे इस महान बल्लेबाज को आगे के लाइफ के लिए शुभकामनाएं......

VIRENDER SEHWAG

Virender Sehwag whom the whole world knows as Sultan of Multan. Prior to Virat, Team India's run machine Sehwag was called. When Sehwag used to come to the opening, he would tear off the bowler of the opposing team, any bowler in front of him, Sehwag always created fear in the opposing team by his fast batting. Sehwag was also called the Nawab of Najafgarh. When Sachin and Sehwag came as openers, they always gave the team a good start. Both have also been Team India's top openers. Sehwag has just retired but he has contributed a lot to take Team India to this level.

Sehwag's father's name was Krishnan Sehwag and Mataji's name was Krishna Sehwag. Virendra had four siblings, Virender being the youngest, he was the most dearly loved. Sehwag's father had a grain trade. Sehwag's childhood was spent in the joint family. Veeru did her schooling from Arora Vidya High School. Veeru used to play a lot of cricket there, when his teacher told his father, father became very angry with Veeru. Father said to Veeru that study did not put anything in all these things. But Veeru continued to play and his coach Amarnath Sharma trained him as an attacking batsman. When Veeru turned 12 years old, he started playing cricket, but his father did not like it much. He told Veeru clearly that you will not play cricket anymore, but Veeru did not give up his stubbornness, he was killed because of his stubbornness but Veeru did not give up his stubbornness and this stubbornness was understood by his mother and father.
